·I am not the only one with a junk parts obsession.
This started with a 99 cent bid.
The 505 I restored came from the same seller. I thought I might bid on this for the 'dyle.' Plust these are great movements to work on. Probably the best ever made. Unlike the 550 the sweep pinion is bridged,
My bid was doing fine till the last part of the auction. Grabbed this screenshot of the dial just as it ended and I knew I was not going to win.
Really thought the missing furniture would keep this low. I do not see it marked OM.
400 seems to be a lot for this junk. Who knows what parts need replacing and how much of the dial side is present. (there are no pictures) The repair cost if done by a professional will be 800 or so.
I think I got the 505 parts around 100. I probably put another 200 into it and got some help from a member here. So perhaps I am just being cheap on this.
I am just amazed on how much interest there is in this stuff, and what a name on a dial (dyle) can do.
