    Nice one.

    Didnt mean piece unique.

Meant if MRs are unique enough for this sub-forum.

Every minute repeater is somewhat unique as they all have their particular sound and feel. Not sure about the large size of the IWC, seconds hand at '9' and the fact that it is a modular, rather than integrated, complication. I prefer a repeater where you can see the hammers operating on the back side. Just personal preference, but all watches are personal.

Good point. Just like chronographs i guess. The integrated complications would be better and more robust?

Quite big. Listing says 43mm. And does feel hefty.

    It’s in white gold.

So far, it’s only Journe whom i have read who makes MRs in steel cases. Supposedly sounds better in steel.

Habring i understand make it in titanium cases.

The traditional houses always make one in precious metal.

Not quite true. Off the top of my head I know for sure that JLC has made Titanium minute repeaters with the Master Minute Repeater that was made maybe a decade or so ago. Also, AP has made with a complicated Royal Oak model that included a minute repeater in a Ti case - although on a much more limited scale than JLC.

    JLC video...

^ nice to know, sir. I stand corrected.

Has any other brand used steel for repeaters or sonneries?

    lots
as stated before JLC AP Bvlgari etc.

I wonder if at this point I consider Journe a traditional house or an independent

All along i’ve been under the impression that PP, AP and VC made MRs only in PMs.

Researches a bit. Saw that PP made a piece unique in SS for onlywatch auction.

Bulgari made MRs in Carbon. And as mentioned by Archer, AP and JLC made MRs in Ti.

Bulgari and VC appear to be competing in which can make the thinnest MR.

Also,JLC made MRs in SS. Same as Citizen (but all in quartz).

What i like about MRs is the interaction between the watch and wearer to bring complication to life.

If not for the price, would love to get a Striking Time. But let’s see if i will be lucky enough to get another MR. Would also love to get a sonnerie. Better if by Genta.

Re independence, i would still consider FPJ independent even if Chanel has an ownership stake.
