Northern CA, just passed Sacramento

The next time I'm in Lodi for the Zin festival, I'll give you a holler. Would love to see your barn find in the metal!

Deal. Lodi has good wine and is well worth the stop, but you’re so close to Napa to not stop by there as well!

I'm looking for a 2-tone arrow marker Connie myself. Beautiful watch and congrats on the find.

Wow, that is overall perfect condition. I am not a constellation fan, but this one touches me, too. The dial with the edges is great. I like. CONGRATULATIONS.

My knowledge is poor when it comes to early Connies.

Referring to the OP's watch, I have some doubts, but everybody here is convinced, that this is IT.

So please help me!

First, the case doesn't look to me like having been stored away and only worn once.

Then I'm wondering about the dial: Is the SWISS MADE in the correct position? And are the black printed hour markers correct to be circles / round dots instead of rectangules?

Not sure anyone stated this was IT, I just wanted to add another sample to the known 2887’s out there to help others.

The story while neat is certainly open to interpretation and I only shared the story that was told to me by the previous owner.

As for the dial here is one on a 55 from Omega Addicts database. Different reference # but same Swiss Made location, dial, markers and dots.

It’s in his database as a 2282 5-SC but the back in the same set of pictures shows 2782 5-SC.

Here is another when I search for 2782 5-SC on his database. Same dial.

Long time lurker first time poster here.

Came across a like new Constellation this week and after asking dozens of questions and getting the seller to remove the back discovered it was a 2887 1 SC with a 1517xxxx serial to date it to 1956. Seller had full 100% feedback 500+ and was fantastic at answering all questions in short order so I went for it. Didn’t find much out there about this model except the article on Desmond’s blog and a couple that had come up on here. It will arrive tomorrow.

Back story is the original owner bought 2 back in the 50’s. One for daily use and this one. It apparently just sat in a drawer for 50 years and donated its original band when it’s twins band wore out. The guy I bought it from said he only wore it once and from the pictures I believe him. He bought both and already sold the other but they were identical watches.

Stainless and gold cap with arrow markers, one that I had been searching for!

Wanted to share another example of a 2887 to help add more examples to the known samples.
