Hi, I recently bought the following omega constellation rail/track dial 14393-1-SC as an impulse buy for US$1000.
Kindly need your input whether my impulse buy is a hit or a miss. Did I pay too much for this watch?

    Sidenote:
The dial has a vertical grain which may not be visible on the photo (I'll try to get a better photo next time).
One concern of mine is that the minute track is not shiny like some examples presented in this forum.
The dial seemed to have aged in some spots.
I've bought an omega replacement crystal and is currently on its way as the current crystal have some scratches and seemed to crack at the 5-6 o'clock position.

    Here are some photos:

I'm also planning to have it serviced at a local watchmaker.

Thank you for your input and attention.
    Regards,

Looks pretty decent overall. i would say $1000 is a fair price for it

The minute track might have been redone as they seem to degrade on these models.
There are a couple of discrepancies at 9 and below the date window but could be the angle of the pic.
A straight on shot in focus would help assessment.
The case has seen some polishing but a gold cap case would never have been as sharp as an SS version.
Nice watch for the price though.

I don't know if the minute track has been redone, but if it has then someone made a good job of it and I could live with that. The original crown in matching gold is a definite plus. The vertical grain you mention is just about visible on the photo with the date window. That spotting on the dial won't show more than a foot away and a skilled watchmaker might even get some of it off. Certainly not a bad purchase of a rare and attractive dial variety.

wow....this really boost my happiness about this watch. Although the minute track might have been redone as you said, i agree that it is quite a good redial as the spacing and consistency is quite good.
Could you by any chance, inform me of a recommend skilled watchmaker that might be able to clean the spots on the dial?
