Been watching that one and still shocked that it’s already over MSRP. I get that dinky sold through their allotment for their two week exclusive, but aren’t these going to be on the open market shortly?

Perhaps some require to possess it immediately. I'm now doubting I'll ever obtain this if the frenzy escalates.

It’s the LE hype and market speculators- they have sucked the fun out of this hobby. Selling a new in box watch, that has never been worn, on the day it’s delivered, isn’t an eager-then disappointed buyer (what- too much rainbow for you- it’s called the friggin’ rainbow!!), it smacks of flipper.
This is getting depressing.

It sucks, but it'll die down quickly. Maybe there are 100 people who would overpay a bit to be able to wear this now, but once the full run is out it'll settle to wherever the long-term value is.

It could be worse, you know. It could be like limited sneaker releases - flipped over and over, never to be worn or even taken out of the box except for rare occasions.

I have now seen 4 on eBay since the release- $1.8k seems to be the target these guys are going for- a 40% markup.

One of the sellers I had been watching offered a PM offer of $1.720. I’m tempted to counter offer at exactly MSRP

Might as well counter with $800.00, and then he’ll meet you in the middle at retail. 🙄

This is getting upsetting. These are the people who ruin this hobby.

I've ordered mine through an AD at the start of August but this is just ridiculous, what? MIDO definitely will have to bring this back to the mainline if its this popular.

Yeah, nobody's buying them though. Plenty on the forums at around MSRP+ shipping / fees (about $1400 or 1500)

Just checked watchrecon and you’re right- I guess there is honor among collectors.

Can we hear from the members here who have these watches on what their impressions are after a few weeks on the wrist?

Still like it but definitely 1. Too Shiny 2. Too hard to read (May be my eyes)

This is what I am interested in and why I balk at snapping one up. The reviews wax on about design and history, but nothing about readability. I have issues with low-contrast dials (silver hands/silver dial) and the more contrast the better. I find my speedy hard to read because all of the dial makers are sticks, but my Sinn 103 which is actually more cluttered than the speedy is easier to read because of the mix of numerals and sizes of characters- there is a hierarchy to the dial that can be easily recognized at a glance. Wondering if this Mido is more like the speedy or the Sinn in that regard.

More like nothing you’ve ever seen! Just a jumble of pastels with some silver flashes thrown in there - the hour hand is particularly hard to find. As for reading the numbers to work out the decompression stops on the way up - forget it. Luckily my bath is only about 6 inches...
