So you're into leather and bondage as well? 😉 (Sorry I couldn't resist)
All are welcome at Omega Forum- whatever you are into, we don’t judge.

Here’s a question to all who attended, as I’ve always been curious about this: after finally meeting in person someone who you may have over time communicated with mostly on the Forum, did you find their in-the-flash persona matched what you gleaned about them from how they present themselves in writing, or were any surprises? I often hear that people can be quite effusive behind the keyboard, and a bit less on a face to face basis…and also the reverse.
I think it takes a certain kind of personality to attend an event like this, especially if you have not previously met any of the attendees. So the people who come are all interested in meeting the others, seeing collections, etc. and are pretty happy to be there. The energy level was pretty high. Even the three wives seemed to make it through the 3 hours without having to roll their eyes.

Hate to interrupt all the fun banter...just wanted to say a big thanks to @gbesq, @JwRosenthal and @TheGreekPhysique and all the WWAGS (watch wives and girlfriends) that helped to put this all together. They really went the distance and picked a great place and took measures to make us all feel safe and secure in several ways. Thank you!

I too had no idea what to expect -- meeting people from an internet forum -- I was blown away with everyone's generosity and willingness to share their stories and their watches so freely. It was such a charge to be in a room with so many like-minded folks, geeking out over these little mechanical wonders that we love so much.

Looking forward to the next one!

That said: if JW turns out to be different, well, I’m out…
JW is exactly as expected, except 20 years younger. He apparently started collecting Hi-Fi equipment and cameras when he was 8 years old.

Yup, yup. Let me extend that to the entire group....everyone is younger, taller, and more handsome than you'd expect.

I assume you were expecting us to be more like this

This is one of the best parts of the morning after.
Had them custom made for the group. I’m brewing coffee for mine as I write this. 😀

Noted. And, you made me realize how much I would love to pick up original devil diver.

My wife is hooked now too. Something like JW's later devil diver Oceanographer (‘68-71). (Dibs)

It was really a great afternoon and certain to become an annual event. And of course I bought another watch (insert eye roll HERE). Just want to thank everyone for coming and everyone who contributed to organizing the event. My new Omega ornament will be the first one on my tree. And here’s a group photo of some of our Mid-Atlantic OF members who made this such a fun day!

So you met in a bomb shelter? 😉

Not quite, but I'll admit that the group photo sure looks that way. 😀

Enjoying a latte in the new mug, and then I'm gonna start updating my watch wishlist based on all the cool vintage timepieces I saw yesterday.
