Speedmaster enthusiasts and collectors love accessories for their watches. I am no exception myself, to be honest. Omega has just introduced three new Speedmaster Moonwatch Velcro straps. We received two of these to try out. As you know, astronauts who used the Speedmaster during EVA (Extra-Vehicular Activity), wore them on velcro straps over their spacesuit. […]

Like the straps, hate the loud branding. If they made one a bit more 'subtle' (i.e. black-black like that killer new SM300) I'd consider it...

I am fully committed to never paying $225US plus tax for a velcro/polyester strap, so that I can have the privilege of doing Omegas advertising for them.

I stand corrected $190.00 USD + tax. The $225 was based on a Euro conversion price that I can't find right now.

excited for the fan-made version for half, or less than half, the price.
was just looking at Kizzi straps out of the blue yesterday, so I feel responsible for this announcement.

190$ to wear Omega's advertising and have a nasa logo on your wrist when you don't work for them. Each to their own I suppose. 😝

I wonder how many people drive around with license plate frames from their vehicle's dealer giving them free advertising, much less the billions of t-shirts people wear with corporate logos of all kinds. I have a 'Yoo-Hoo' chocolate drink t-shirt on right now. So the advertising dislike for these straps is a bit contrived, imo. Don't people often swap out the generic Uncle Seiko clasp for an Omega branded one? Same thing in my eyes.

I bought their first edition one-piece 'Speedmaster Moonwatch' strap a few years ago for $160 which included the full kit with screwdriver and extra springbars. Looks better than most fabric NATO-style straps, imo. We spend a LOT of money on gimmicks in our lives, $200+ for a strap these days isn't over the top. I've got a Genteel strap being made now for my Ultraman, $300, it's just the cost of this hobby. Buy the new strap if you like it, don't buy it if you don't. Omega will sell a bunch though.

These new straps are two piece jobs now so if you have a sapphire back Speedmaster you won't block the view. I was over on the Omega site playing with their strap tool, the grey version looks pretty good on the Snoopy, great NASA tie in there. I imagine more than a few Snoopy's will end up with this new strap.

They are really cool but I'm not a huge fan of the 2 piece strap. I prefer a single piece.

It’s a bit cheesy. I’ll be buying the white one for my 105.012-63.

I’ll be buying the black one for my 50th Snoopy, whenever it comes - cheesy x 2 😁

It's always great to see more straps with infinite adjustability. I'm always in-between hole sizes on leather straps and NATO's so they're either too tight or too loose. My favourite style on my Speedmaster is perlon where you can make it fit perfectly. Another quality velcro strap is very good.

I'd much rather have 2 Kizzi straps for less than the price of one of these. Two much going on with these with the meatball and the huge SPEEDMASTER stamp. I like the simple authentic look of the Kizzi much better.

I don't like it 👎

They should have made a shorter version of the previous that was included in the big box
