I wouldn't suggest watches with tritium tubes in hands. Watchmaker told me had to reset hands on a lot ( compared to other watches without tubes of course) of watches. brand even doesn't matter - marathon, traser, all have the same problem - hands are too heavy and in case of right shock they dislocate and stick together.

Seamaster 2254. Rugged, comfortable, reliable, accurate, waterproof and easy to read (especially in the dark.)

I have a Marathon GSAR. I messed up the bezel, hitting it very hard during some work. It worked for a while but felt very odd. Then it became bidirectional and then finally seized up. Later, I wrecked the bezel: it wasn't even true anymore and the Maraglo triangle popped off and the hour hand vial popped off. The hands were as aligned as before. My experience doesn't seem to support this. The vials can be a liability only because and in extreme cases but not in the way this watchmaker says.

I'd like to add the Marathon GSAR to
my suggestions above. Unless you'll be climbing in and out of lockout trunks often, you should have no issues like mine.

If you want to splurge, I say sinn or damasko - lots of fun options, nice and rugged, and scratch-resistant.

If you're on a budget, I vote Seiko SKX - cheap mechanical fun, and tons of designs to choose from.

Thanks - tbh - any suggestion except the explorer as the brand draws unwanted attention in places I wouldn’t want it.

I know you knew. More for the OP 😀

I’ve got a 009 I wear a lot, an unopened 007 from the last known month of production. And a modified gold 5kx. Plus FooGirl has a 013 midsize d.

You and I share the same problem😀

What’s your budget?

Up to 4.5 but there are lots of fantastic options under 1 that i’m seriously considering. In some places it would be better to not bring unwanted attention. Really wish the khaki field watch titanium had a screw down crown and anti-reflective coating and i’d be instantly sold as its in my opinion one of the most aesthetically beautiful field watches. They really did a good job.

There have been a few others posted here that have caught my eye. The TCM that brad pit wore in z movie in titanium that Standy posted is a handsome if not bit of a rarer watch today. I could just go smp or rail also.

I have been doing quite a bit of research and came upon this - Bremont Broadsword in stainless or Bronze. Automatic, 40mm. Amazing lume (full lume dial), screw down crown, 100m and made with approval from majesties armed forces.

Think this is the one!

They don't look like full lume dials. Price seem outrageous.

I think if looking at the movement specifically it’s definitely on the pricey side.
