Hi!, May be this is a very basic question for most of you, but I have no idea: is it possible that a Mark II features a 321 movement?
I've bought last week a pre moon Mark II, and it is powered by a 321, serial number from 1968.
    Is it a franken? Thanks!

First I’ve heard of it. So probably a Franken.

Thanks for the answers, then it means that someone replaced the original 861 movement with a 321 one from the same year (68)

It simply is a franken watch with an incorrect movement.

mark II launched in 1969, powered by calibre 861.

there’s no explanation to look for ;)

    @tentate : What’s the movement’s serial number?

Additional information: the 321 movement serial number is 26.545.xxx
The Mark II casebook is marked:
    FAB. SUISSE
    DDE BR. + 2750/67
    ACIER INOXYDABLE
    145.014

Then this Mark II is from 1967?
    Thanks

That serial is from fall 1968.

You seem not to get it. The movement in your watch does not belong to your watch.

You can try to order an extract from the archives at Omega to confirm what we’re trying to tell you.

Thank you Kov, I've got it already, I was just posting the movement serial because I was asked for, and also asking if the engraving on the caseback means that the watch if from 1967 or it means something different (2750/67) you get it?:)

There are a lot of watches with calibre 861.

The only way to make sure you have the right movement is to get it with an extract from the archives confirming it was a 145.014.

And if I want to get an extract from the archives which information should I provide?. Are there any numbers somewhere on the case I have to look for? Here are some pics, thanks

I’m not sure its worth spending any more money on an extract, or tracking down an correct cal 861

My guess is that the watch has suffered severe water damage at some stage ( looking at the dial damage) and so a watchmaker has swapped out a 861 for a 321 he had lying around

    just enjoy it

An extract will most likely be rejected due to mismatch with no refund.
