I am also surprised how much I like them – except for the tacky signature on the back.

yeah the explorer was done with a sharpie.

No doubt attractive, we have seen these before. The biggest problem is; don't ever try to have Rolex do any work on one. They will confiscate the case.

Rolex considers any watch with either non-Rolex [parts, or one that has been modified, to be a counterfeit watch. Not only will they charge you for replacing them, but they will confiscate the aftermarket of modified parts. So you don't get them returned to you, even though they are your property.

They are wonderful to deal with....really....

well - i know someone who took a franken rolex (totally screwed up, repainted dial, wrong case to back, wrong genuine rolex movement ... and so on... the watch was a franken out of 3 rolex'es and even had a fake crown) to the official rolex store for certification (he just didnt knew better) and they "certified it" as franken and gave it back. i have a foto of the certificate xD
