...they are identified on Omega's website as Master Chronometers, not Co-axial Masters.

Nor did I suggest they are called Co-axial Masters, either.

One thing to keep in mind for the Bumble Bee. It is in effect a prototype model, representing Omega's first foray into what would become an obsession with highly anti-magnetic watch movements. After the Bumble Bee came the "master coaxial" designation, then "coaxial master". What I'm saying is that the AT 15.000 Gauss (with its one-of-a-kind caliber 8508 movement) may have some future value as a collector's piece.
It's confusing enough for guys new to the brand to keep Omega's many models straight, it'd be nice for veteran users to keep to the same terminology to avoid more confusion as well.

I mean this in the most complimentary way you can imagine:

You've all been extremely unhelpful.

I want to keep my AT *and* get a Speedmaster now. Thanks so much. SO. MUCH.

I would much prefer to sell here (if I did) than eBay, simply because I'd prefer it go to someone in this community, but yes, I don't have the required permissions yet so, possible favour to ask if I go ahead.

I'd overlooked the fact that the 15,000 is potentially a bit more valuable in future. I definitely recognised it was special (to me anyway) because it's the only one of its kind, but assumed the volume sold would limit any extra resale.

I didn't understand Speedmasters @ all 1.5 years back. The only Omega watches I had were Seamasters....my first luxury watch was a Seamaster....it was all I knew. I foolishly tried on 2 watches at a boutique and was blown away....the Speedmaster Pro with hesalite and The Grey Side of the Moon.....I still own those 2 today....along with 10 other Speedmasters I've purchased over the time.....as others have mentioned, once it clicks it doesn't seem to "un-click"......Definitely has taken over my lover for Seamasters on the Omega side (though I admit I got my fair share of those as well)....I'm trying my ck2998 on a new custom strap today.....it's not a feeling any of my Daytonas could replicate:

Who made that strap for you?! I'd love to order similar but with rally holes...

Here are my two favorite straps for CK...

And then you've gotta have a JB Champion...

Myron from www.roverhaven.com

He does great work and has made several straps for me. He's on break for the summer now....but I know who I'm finding to do my straps now....custom straps = the way to go for me now.....unless I see some OEM Omega straps I like, since they have some nice options also.

Like others, I did not understand Speedmasters very much...but I have always loved the Space Program here, even going to Space Camp as a young child. Space always fascinated me and once I found out the historical significance of the Speedy in Space, I was hooked! It started with a Mark II and now I'm 4 Speedy's in. I love these watches and will never NOT own a Speedmaster (or 4) in my life again!

As for selling your AT, you can try Chrono24. You get good prices like eBay with the added assurance and safety as well. I am probably gonna list my AT there soon as well!

I spent decades enthralled with Seamasters and never gave a thought to Speedmasters. I used to dive a lot, the earth is 70% water, blah blah blah. Big and rugged was what I (thought I) needed. Seamasters served me well for more than two decades, and I still appreciate them. Believe it or not, it was a Rolex acquisition that made me take a look at Speedmasters.

My nearly life-long grail watch was a Rolex GMT2 Pepsi.

I spent many years talking myself in and out of it. I finally pulled the trigger this year and getting it woke something in me. I lost my narrow Seamaster focus. Rediscovered my love of NASA and the Space Program, learned of the Speedmaster tie-in, and that was that. With my 7 3/4" wrists the 42mm models appealed to me and then there was the co-axial 44.25mm Speedys. Boom. Bitten by the Speedmaster Bug and nothing will ever be the same. 😀

Good call, I just ran into one of the Bumble Bees in the wild last week. Seriously nice watch, great causal watch for Business Casual wear, understated with a bit of "fun" with the yellow, plus you can wear it with anything in a sport casual setting. Much better then an Orange POC which has the same effect. I also think these will have much better then average prices in a few years with the great look and special place in Omega History.

Like you this forum very quickly infected me with the Speedy Bug, my advice is take your time, learn them and get a birthyear one.

It's odd. Since making this thread, I've worn the watch 3 times and feel like I did when I first got it. It also dawned on me that, being from Manchester, bees are the city's symbol and since the recent terror attack, the bee symbol has been everywhere.

It's going bloody nowhere. No more wobbles!

Good decision!

Inspired by this thread look what I tried yesterday at my local boutique:

Do it for the bees.

I usually made a decision each morning about what watch to wear and usually found myself reaching for the SM300MC.

Changed up that tactic and decided to wear the bumblebee for at least a week, uninterrupted.

It really did the trick.
