It’s really well done with the exception of the minute markers.

Ie too me it looks ok except for the odd large minute markers which I’ve never seen… but that doesn’t mean anything.

While I won't claim to be an authority on these, I would say it is okay. These 168.025s came with some pretty unusual dial types.

Edit: There is something off with the lume though. Perhaps it has an incorrect crystal obscuring the plots? It does seem like at least one of the hour markers have been reglued.

A double T without obvious hour marker lume isn’t exactly conclusive but interesting. I know it’s not a rule.

your thoughts? For my education?

Double T or single T means the same. The idea that there are dials without lume fitted with hands that are lumed is more or less a myth, at least when we're talking Omega.

I would hazard a guess that it has either been cleaned and/or it has had a wrong crystal installed which obscures the markers.

@jim tomas - are you specifically looking for a pie-pan Constellation?

You should be aware that these .025s alongside other later Constellations are a bit of an acquired taste due to a somewhat less classic and more unconventional shape and case design.

It's the Omega equivalent of looking for a 1966 Ford Mustang and end up buying an Mustang mk 2.

These .015s and in this case .025s do have some ‘unusual’ dials.
this one looks like it is wearing false eyelashes.
Whilst the printing looks crude, I think this one is correct.
The lume , in contrast to the oversized markers and minute haches, are small dots and I also think @ConElPueblo has it right that the retaining ring is obscuring the lume.
you can just see them on a different angled pic and they’re more obvious on the hoodinkee offering.

Thanks so much for the analysis i totally agree , i just sold my 641/2 mustang and look what has evolved in 50 plus years with the mustangs

@ConElPueblo am just beginning this hobby and purchased my first gold /steel constellation pie pan for my son and i am now looking for a very clean dial steel constellation either pie pan or not a calendar style would be nice but not essential .but the dial should be very clean almost no patina. Where is the best place to find this type of animal ?
thanks

That depends on what you intent to spend - money or time? I've found wonderful Constellations at very affordable prices at online sales places such as local "craigslist" variants and on eBay. But I have a knack for visual identification and have spent a lot of time getting to know my way around old watches - not all have those skills and that much time on hand.

This one I found last year:

They are out there.

If you cannot put aside the time needed for this, you should find a trusted seller and then get ready to spend around $2,5k for something similar.

I would personally take away the pie-pan dial from the equation. It's only a dial type, not the defining characteristic of the watch.

By the way - so happy to see that the Mustang comparison hit home 😁

Haha, I’d like this twice if that was possible. That’s spot-on, no further explanation needed 😁

@jim tomas Also check the classifieds here every now and then. For instance, this one (not quite as sharp as the @ConElPueblo s example, but still not bad):

As usual, I can only support the sage advice from @ConElPueblo.
Considering dome (and flat) dials will significantly widen the pool from which you can choose.
Personally, whilst I appreciate pie pans, I actually prefer the simple elegance of a dome dial.

However, you’ve already discovered that some different case styles are available with both pie pan and dome dials, so also having a look at all of those references with both dial variations will expand your options too.
