Hi.. a new member here looking for buy first omega vintage watch
I found this listing from a local online seller: Omega cal 283. The dial looks very clean, but I cant decide whether the dial is original or a repaint? I found that the Omega font is suspicious, but I might be wrong.
The seller asking for around 750 usd

Any input would be very appreciated, thank you!

Repainted and polished case and probably a replacement crown.

If you’re looking for a first Omega, on eBay or elsewhere, and you want a no date model, you could do a lot worse than searching for an Omega calibre 601 if you’re happy with a manual movement or calibre 552 if you want an equally reliable automatic watch from the 60s/70s

Redial. Look at the font and the spacing of the minute hashes, particularly around 4 oclock
