Long time lurker, first post. Please be gentle.

My name is Matt and I love Omega watches. I am looking to purchase a vintage 3520 with a recent service history from Omega. Is there a best place I can start my search? I have given up on ebay after receiving a watch in “excellent” condition from a highly rated seller. The watch arrived with day of week corrector issues and no power reserve. I sent it back for a full refund.

I am guessing Bobs watches is a great place for used Omega items.

I really want to buy a freshly serviced watch.

ty for any help,

Matt

I’m not really sure there is one place you can start your search. You can check here, eBay, and Chrono24 for listings and see if you can find something recently serviced.

Do you specifically want one serviced by Omega? In that case, your best option is to buy an acceptable example and send it in to Omega for a service. It would probably cost you $1,000 and take 6 weeks. While some dealers might be servicing the watches they offer, almost none will be getting a factory service.

That being said, I don’t think these are difficult to have worked on. I’m pretty sure the movement is a variant of the standard Valjoux 775X. Most watchmakers should be able to service these. You’re more likely to find one with service history from an independent watchmaker.

Thank you for your thoughts. I have thought about the idea of trying to get a great deal on a watch in need of service and sending it in to Omega for full service. Will Omega take in any watch in any condition for a full service or are there conditions? Ty for the help.
