Looking for some help and advice on a recent purchase

Good evening everyone,

I purchased this watch a few months ago from sabashioyakiz1 on eBay. The watch has been running great and is in excellent condition, but I have a few questions / concerns.

My questions / concerns are listed below:
1. I sent an email to Omega Sales Support (Omega USA / Swatch Group US) to verify the purchase date, jeweler and find out the production date based on the serial number. They replied that they do not have any records for my watch, but they did inform me that this model was introduced in 1999. If the watch was purchased at an authorized Omega dealer (indicated by the jeweler stamp on the international warranty card) should they have records for my watch?

2. The purchase date of the watch on the international warranty card is December 22nd, 2014. Is it possible that a watch from 1999 was purchased at an authorized Omega dealer in 2014?

3. I was not able to find the jeweler on the warranty card in Omega's list of authorized dealers on their website.

4. Do the boxes (inner and outer), operating instructions book (edition and hard cover), card holder, hang tag, sticker (red, not orange), look correct / original to my watch?

Thank you,
paperpelican

You need to order an Extract of the Archives, through an Omega Boutique or AD, to get the production date.

Id question the authenticity of the box set, and the card to be honest.

There used to be a couple of Thai websites where you could order a set, including cards that came in this style (they weren’t like that from omega in 2014 I don’t think), for £80.

As the folks above have said, you need an extract to know the production details - personally wth this watch I wouldn’t bother, and would instead put that cash towards the next service. 👍

Everything looks correct BTW, including the first edition of the hardback manual.

You think?

This has the look of a few “puffy” fakes that I have... happy to be told otherwise.

Googling, those cards, with that 5202 number show up on a lot of early 2000s watches for sale... perhaps someone’s stamped up and dated a blank card?

The 3510 was in production for a number of years, not just "1999", so yes it possible, and not unusual that your watch was only purchased recently.

Think what you like Chris, Saba doesn't sell fake watches.

Sorry chap, didn’t mean to imply that, meant the box.

Would not be the only person/dealer ever to buy a box set (box/manual) for a watch that wasn’t original to make a set.

The box just has the same puffy look as some wronguns that have been supplied with watches I’ve bought in the past.

Understood.

Here are some closer pictures of the watch boxes and warranty card for you guys. The outer box does have the 3 on the front side of it and looks consistent with others that I have seen for sale, but on the warranty card and on the inside of the inner box there appears to be tiny marks of red (similar to that of the red of the older Omega boxes that peeled with the gold Omega logo on them, not silver). Although the only watches that I've seen with the older red boxes have had the orange caseback sticker on them, not the red one that came with this one.

The one question no-one has asked, does the serial number on the caseback match the one on the warranty card?

It is the only way. There in no sense getting an extract from the serial on the warranty card has to be off the movement.

Do you mean the caseback, or the movement?

There is no number on the movement on these watches.

Ok great, is the red caseback sticker also an indication that the watch was purchased recently as well as the "newer looking" accessories (operating instructions, boxes, card holder, etc.)?

I can see why it’s niggling, but genuinely wouldn’t worry, if you’re happy with the watch.

Lots of people throw boxes away, and it’s much more common to see one of these without box/manual, than with.
