Hi everyone,
I’m considering buying this Speedmaster 145.022-69 and would love to hear your opinions on it. Unfortunately, I don’t know the exact serial number of the movement, but I do know that it starts with 2911.
How would you rate its condition, and what do you think the watch is worth?
Any and all feedback is welcome. Thanks in advance!

Any feedback is appreciated. Please let me know if any additional information is needed, although this is pretty much all the information I have at this point.

Dial and handset looks tidy. “meteorite “ bezel. Bracelet possibly wrong. Case looks possibly refinished. The watch looks made up by a dealer for a sale. What’s the price?
Is that brown peeking out on left side of dial?

Thank you very much for your feedback. I also noticed that it has a service crown and pushers, although that shouldn’t make too much of a difference. The watch is currently being offered for €4,990.

The serial number matches with the reference number, that's a good start. But I’d definitely do a research at Speedmaster101. That site helped me a lot when I was doing my homework before buying my 145.012-67SP.

Sorry for posting twice, but I can’t edit my previous post anymore.
Thanks for pointing out the brownish tint on the dial. I hadn’t noticed it before, but I can only see it in that one photo.

The price is not crazy if its from a reputable dealer - one who will take it back if you don't like is and guarantee it for a year. Since you are asking for advice, it is possible that those will be valuable to you.

The bracelet adds no value for me.

The head is ok, its going to be around good on my grading. Perhaps higher if the dial has a hint of colour and it is clean.

The watch is let down by the bezel, and the case which as has been pointed out looks prepared, but even then they couldn't remove the teeth marks on the 5 o'clock lug.

Pushers are new, which reinforces the idea it's a dealer watch.

If you are asking here, then you do not yet have the confidence to buy on your own. (We have all been in that position). To gain that confidence, you need knowledge and experience, and for that, you cannot beat ownership.

Another way to look at this is, you buy this, learn, keep it a while. Then, wandering, you come across another that you recognise is good, and you buy it. Then sell this one. Even if you loose $1500 on its resale it is a cheap lesson and experience. Or you might even fall in love with this one along with all its faults, and keep it. Its happened to me.

Getting advice from Spacefruit is gold…. Use it wisely!

I would humbly add - the Private Sales section on this very forum is a wonderful place to buy an honest vintage Speedmaster.

Sage advice. I've been back over the photos four times to look at the points made by Spacefruit.
