Greetings to all OF-members!
My first post here.

I'm a big OMEGA fan and am building my own modest collection.
Sorry for my English, this electronic Google translator.

I'm looking at purchasing a vintage OMEGA 166.001, and I have looked at the watch and really like it.
But I don't know much about vintage OMEGA watches, and that's why I'm here.
Please look at these photos (these are my photos and the seller's photo). Is everything okay with this Seamaster? Are they legit?
The seller is asking $700 for this watch. No og box, no papers.
Deal or pass?

Thank you very much and best regards to everyone.

Least desirable case material (gold plate), wrong crown, possibly wrong hands (I’m not certain on that one, they may be correct) and no bracelet.

I’d pass at that price. These are very similar to the 166.002 and aren’t hard to find. With some patience you should be able to find a better one at a lower price.

I'd pass at half the price.

Poor photos likely hide wear to the edges of the lugs.

Thank you very much for answers. Yes, I see that the crown is not original.
Seller told me that the dial, hands and markers are in clean and good condition. Which is rare?
Perhaps they have been cleaned. The dial may have been restoration.

Dial and hands look fine and original.

Just way too much money for a gold plated Omega.
