Looking for my first Timepiece

Hello everyone,
I'm looking at watches to wear for my wedding and I have narrowed it down to a few. The

SPECTRE AQUA TERRA 150 M OMEGA MASTER CO-AXIAL 41.5 MM
BLUE AQUA TERRA 150 M OMEGA MASTER CO-AXIAL 41.5 MM
ROLEX MILGUASS
ROLEX SUBMARINER

I'm definitely wanting a blue faced watch, but I can't figure out which one I want for my forever piece. It is a small thing, but I know that all Rolex hands and hour markers are 18k white gold, which helps me understand their value. But I cannot find anything on what Omega's hands and hour markers are made of. Is there anything else I should be looking at?
Thank!

Are you wearing a tux?

I have a few comments for you. None of these are really dress watches that can be work with a tux. Ok the Bond did it with a submariner... The milgauss is a dressy casual watch, and IMHO is only worth it with the green dial and that is going to stand out, and not in a good way for a wedding. Good luck finding a Spectre 300m they are pretty much sold out and afiak Omega USA boutiques have zero left, some authorized dealers may have them, and rumors are some are still available in the Asian boutiques. The blue aqua terra is like the milguass a dressy casual watch.

All of these can be worn with suits in most situations, and hell all of them can be worn with a tux, although the 300m is going to sit high and may have an issue with your cuffs.

What I would do is buy the watch that speaks to you the most, which will you get the most use out of? Which will you wear the most after the wedding? What do you do for work, and for fun?

Omega and Rolex equal in quality for the most part, Rolex has slightly better materials, Omega has the better movements. That being said the higher price of the Rolex is more due to marketing and its affect on the market and future resale, oddly this does not mean the Rolex is over priced. That being said the material of the hands is not an issue and honestly I've never heard it come up before outside of Rolex marketing, the gold/silver value on hands would be negligible when factored into final costs, think about it they are a tiny fraction of the weight of a weddingband and a plain 18k wedding band is not very expensive.

Notes on each

Submariner - Classic iconic watch, tends to stay very stable in value as Rolex tends to raise prices every year which keeps the used/vintage market high. On the other hand it is a Submariner which everyone and their cousin has. Everyone will notice it, can be worn with everything even a tux according to James Bond. Watch guys have huge mixed feelings on this watch, on one hand it is a iconic classic design, on the other hand its the watch that everyone that wants a nice watch gets.

300M Spectre - drop dead looking watch, and the 300m its based on is the exact same look from more then 3 feet. I am currently kicking myself for not getting one. This is a vintage inspired tool watch, and should hold value decently well, although this one might go up.

The Milguass is a like an engineers watch and at this point slightly archaic. All of the "master professional" Omegas are leaps and bounds more anti-magnetic at this point and do not actively advertise it. The milguass is striking with the green glass, but its an engineers watch in my mind and not sure about how others feel, but it is not really an active sports style watch. Last I checked they hold value pretty well.

The AT 150 is a dressy causal watch like the milguass but is more of an active sport watch at least in my mind, and will wear alot bigger then the milguass on your wrist. This is a watch you can take to the beach or the pool then slip on a suit and go out without ever taking it off, like the Sub, but it is a tad more fancy with the dial work. This watch tends to lose more on the used market then the others.

At the end of the day it is up to you and your budget, try them on as they will all look different and wear different on your wrist. You might be surprised that 1 or 3 of them just do not look right when you wear them.

Have you already looked at and ruled out an Omega Speedy 57' with the blue dial? I don't think you'd go wrong with any of your listed suggestions. However, with the criteria of a great watch, with a blue face, and a "forever piece," the Speedy 57' would be my choice.

At my wedding this past summer, I wore a Sub. Any of these watches can match well with a dinner jacket. Unless you wear a navy blue color somewhere, though, you should probably wear a watch that will match with the prevailing color, probably black. That would suggest the Seamaster 300 or the Submariner. No matter what you choose, you will have a great watch for life. Let us know what you decide!

BTW ... If you really want a blue face on the watch, you may want to consider a Seamaster Diver 300M ... The classic "Bond" Seamaster. Just a thought.

Thank you everyone for your help. I am wearing a navy tuxedo so I definitely want the blue face. @Foo2rama the local AD that I go to has 6 Spectre AT's in stock. They're offering a "10%" discount... I've ruled out the submariner because the blue face is only available in white gold, and I'm not ready to shell out that kind of money yet.
@flw, a lot of my friends have the Seamaster Diver 300M so I am looking to be different. I have to say I've narrowed it down to two after trying them on today.

Spectre AT
Rolex DJ2

Both have there pros and cons, the Rolex fit like a glove right out of the case and the AT needed to have links removed. At the same time, the AT comes with that added band and can easily be replaced with others, whereas the Rolex I'm told is a pain in the butt to do. Both are definitely forever watches, and after reading the comments I'm leaning more towards the AT since it is a "collectors edition." I can buy the DJ2 when I have my first kid or something 😀

While this is much more of a tool watch than a watch one would wear with a suit, its fits the profile for a blue face!

Unfortunately I have yet to see the Blue Pelagos in person. Does anyone know how the shade of blue compares to the titanium SM300 Master Co-Axial?

Hi @Atomicskibum07

Congratulazioni per il tuo matrimonio !

Has Anyone Here... Everrrr...thought ..about what Watch the Bride will be wearing.... ???
Come On Guys ! Hey.. whatever Mr Skibum's wearing.... Mrs.Skibum 's getting One too..She could wear an Omega Ladymatic like Nicole Kidman's that matches her wedding gown beautifully...

The ladies will definately be gossiping whispering comments like..." Navy Tuxedo ? Why's the bride wearin' a G Shock ? To tell everyone Who's Boss ? How old is she ? " Why...mrs skibum's hairdo's just amazing.. skeeterboy looks soooo cute....Oooo..she needs a Nose Job..and a Boob Job too..!"

The Blue Pelagos will certainly attract my attention & the attention of the Guests at the wedding reception simply because most of us have never seen one before...! It's a Very Photogenic Timepiece...

Love & Cheerish Your Wife & Life Partner for All Eternity more that the watch itself , capisce ?

" SAL-LUU-TEH ! "
