Also, based on the goopyness of the gaskets, it hasn't been serviced in a very long time. Budget for new crystal and casebook gaskets, pushers, and crown if you want it to pass a pressure test. Certainly some deferred maintenance needed but looks worth correcting/preserving. Or just wear the heck out of if you're not a collector.

I noticed the gasket as well, and ready to give it a service. I'm not concerned about water resistance though, I would never wear it for swimming or showering. I like my vintage pieces with a bit of character so the crystal doesn't bother me.
Thanks for the input about the hands. They seem like replacements, the condition on them seems too good.

Nice watch and a good deal. But the hands are new. But if it is in no need for a service I would buy it.

Anyone knows how much is it to change the crystal and tachy scale ?
Are they independent of each other or do they come together as one?

Does anyone know how much replacement hands would be to correct it?

One more question, given the minute hand is shorter. Is there a dial that these hands belong to? Or are they just fakes. The seller has agreed to reduce the price and replace them with the originals that I purchase. Can anyone tell me which reference the shorter minute hand belongs to?

I hate commenting on these. Someone please chime in to tell me I'm wrong.

I've got my MkII in my hand right now (it was on my wrist), and I am angling this thing back and forth against the photo but no matter what I do, I can't seem to make the side chamfer marry with the one in the photo. The photo looks deeper and the pushers closer to the start of the chamfer. Is it just the depth of field and angle or has this been polished?

Your watch could have been polished. Can you post some pictures?

I'm guessing unpolished. To me it looks like the perspective of a long macro lens. The condition of the brushing looks similar to my MKII, which I believe is also unpolished. The minute hand is probably from a watch with a similar movement. Flightmaster, Seamaster, and Chronostop all had hands with this color scheme.

Mine's a "barn find" and covered in far too many scratches to be anything but original ... I'm not sure I have a photo that matches the angle, but let me look ...

You can find a new crystal on eBay right now for not too much. This comes with the tachy included. Any good watch repair guy should be able to replace it for a couple of bucks.

Many of the EBay crystals are not OEM and the Tachy font is wrong.

And that crystal is not "easy" to install even with a OEM crystal!
