    Hi gang,

I just put a Speedmaster Mark II on hold. I just wanted to make sure the reference # was correct for the dial.
    28088XXX

Here are a few photos as well, more comments are welcome. The seller states unpolished condition and all original dial, hands, band etc. the dial also has the T T on it which is not visible in the photo.

    Thanks for any feedback available.

    Best,
    A

Looks good to me. The dial and hands look in pretty good shape considering their age - the hands in particular

I see some incongruity between the banged up glass (12-1h) and the "flawless" watch...

Hands look refinished (are the centre rivets on the orange hands always painted or are those normally brass coloured)? That is def not 40 year old paint

Looks good to me the glass dent at 12 -1 is in line w a decent gauge in the case at the same spot so I don't think the case was refinished . The dial does not look relumed (ask for a lume shot since there shouldn't be any left or just a faint hint of one). The hands might be new though. I have a 1975 Mark 4.5 and the hands sure do not look this shiny.

Thanks guys. I just had an issue with a dial not matching the serial. So I wanted to make sure that the number was in fact for a racing dial.
The dial does have the "t" s on it. The hands did look a little to perfect to me, but it might be photoshopped, I'll ask to see some natural light photos. And the line is in great shape, but so is the lume on my 69 speedy with the exception of an imperfection on the seconds hand.

@al128, what do you mean by "flawless"?

The serial matches 69 production as noted. I'm pretty sure the same reference number covered both dials. There is no way to check the serial vs the dial without an extract aka history from Omega available for about $100 usd.

$1500 is an exceptional price almost on the to good to be true area. Does the buyer have a good history or references? Able to send a picture with some kind of date reference on it?

At that price even if the hands are replacements it's an awesome deal. The lume looks aged correctly for exceptionally aged Lume. The overall presentation and patina is excellent.

1500 bucks is good but when was it last serviced ? If 10 years ago you can add 500 bucks so now u r talkin 2k for the true cost.
I have seen some go for less but were beat to death and not serviced in ages so I think this is a overall good deal

I made a conversion mistake, it's $1.8k and he does state that it is working as should but he hasn't had it serviced. I can do that for about 200usd if it's just a service and no repairs are needed.

He has good references and I'll be doing a f2f transaction.

    Thanks for the feedback

Hard to find nice ones. Hard to sell sometimes.
However these are also being dragged up in the speedie bubble so I would agree that the price is good.

Looks well preserved cosmetically, but the minute hand is incorrect (too short and thin).
