MOMA and the Met are must sees. Lots of watch boutiques but not sure which vintage shops are still around. Get a Citizen bike and ride through the park.
MOMA was amazing, we were there for hours!

Thanks @calalum !

Hi Guys!
I finally made it to Grand Central Watch!
Thanks @OneTwo!!

It took some time to find, but worth the effort.
They had a nice storefront, with some nice watches, but no shop/showroom.
Only a counter were you could speak with the staff.
Really friendly people, and they took out a Speedy for me to ”play” with!

This one was a bit too new for me, they were not sure about the reference (they said 145022),
but I think it should be a 3590.50?
I didn't do any studies since this watch wasn't on my list,
and the price was HEAVY, 6750 $ plus tax.

But always FUN!
Cheers!

Glad you found it! Been wanting to see it in person but haven't had the time to swing a trip out to NYC, so I really appreciate the photos!!

Just saw this thread, Hans. If you're still there, try to do the Intrepid.

And agree, MOMA is awesome.

Dave, thanks for the tip,
We drove by the piers and I saw the ship on our last day, so sadly I didn't have the time for it....

But next time!

😀

Gotta save something for next time!

(That’s what we'd tell the kids when we were on vacation. 😉)

So I'm going to NYC in January for my birthday! I used to live there, but years ago / before my watch obsession 😂

@hansaboy and others: which shops would you ultimately recommend for the biggest/best selections of pre-owned/vintage?

Happy B-day in advance!😄

If I remember correctly, the Diamond District had tons and tons of watch stores.
But to be honest, you will not find any amazing deals there, but they have everything, and fun to look at!

Check out Yan's Antique Jewelry Inc. (35 Pell St)in Chinatown. They have a pretty decent selection of vintage watches the last time I was there. Not cheap though so I didn't buy anything.
