Looking for advice on a Seamaster from my godfather

Hi All, recently inherited this watch from my godfather and am really struggling to place it - fascinated to know which model it might be and roughly when made. Also it has an expanding bracelet strap, now broken and I would love to know what style strap would be most appropriate. Thank you for any advice or help you are able to offer. Charlie

From circa 1958-60. Might be a late model 2846 but might be one of the early 5 digit models too. Uses the 501 full rotor movement (or maybe 17j 500 version if sold in the USA). The so called 'Beads of Rice' bracelet looks good on these, see below, but any 18mm strap will also look great.

I'd recommend a good alligator or lizard strap! I have had a couple made custom from a guy named Hephakee leather and enjoyed them.

If you want the bracelet, you can get vintage or new. Omega still sells the new ones for $450, 3010/511.

Vintage you would need end links "11". There are many different variations, so as long as it looks like Mr Padders, all good.

Very nice watch..in my opinion a leather band will look very good for this watch. Regards.

Beads of rise is perfect for this reference but first of all, find a good omega vintage buckle and put it on a lizard strap 😉
