Looking for a vintage Omega dress watch

Getting a black dialed Omega for less than $500 will be next to impossible. Getting any vintage black-dialed Omega is difficult at best because many of them are not original.

You may want to rethink your requirements....
I did not follow recent prices, but a patinated 2639 has been in that range not very long ago, hasn't it?!
or what do these go for today?

I don't know, I don't follow them, because there are so few, and I'm not really in the market for one.

As long as they’re still half attractive and running, they’re significantly more than that already. If it has to be an original black dial and sub-500$, a small example without a model name would be your best bet. But the chances are very, very slim, and once you factor in a service, which will be inevitable at that price range, you’ve blown the budget again.

I’d say save up patiently until you can raise your budget or look for less sought-after dials/variants.

Not sure, if mine is "half attractive" but good to know, thanks!

Let's say, I am not in the market as I am already quite satisfactorily equipped...

I thoroughly agree with your choice of black for a dress watch, as they say, black goes with everything!

Love mine but you won't find one for your price range.
I say hold off until you find or can afford what you truly want.
If you buy something else you will just end up with 2 watches eventually.

Which is not to say that he wont end up with 2 watches anyway. 😁

@Oku "half attractive" doesnt cut it for those! Very nice.

Well, I have to admit two of them were also not in the <500$ region when I bought them years ago.

Hey everyone! I appreciate all the comments and feedback! I'll keep looking and am open to raising my budget. I can be patient. Plus, I just bought a watch on here...the Hamilton Khaki Field Auto watch....so now I have to save up! Cheers...Major

I looked for a long time. gave up on finding black vintage that hadn’t been seriously refreshed or Re dialled as I don’t like significant patina and black shows it severely. Not showing off, bUt I went a bit extravagant (well by my standards). Wife got me it for Christmas. It gets worn a lot
