Well,...
I was born in 1989 - so in a few months I'm 30 years old...
For that reason I am planning on buying a Rolex from the year of my birth 馃榾

If GMT or Submariner is not so important... (I already got a DJ and a 6digit Submariner)
Problem is: 1989 - But I would prefer Tritium...

What possibilites would I have?
I came across the 5513 L-Series.
Are there any other options?

Also the 16800 is really great - but it wasn't produced till 1989 as far as I know!?

Thanks!!

Sure I have a look on chrono24. Still I am not TO familiar with Rolex Subs/GMTs and would like to know all references with tritium available in 1989.
Still an older watch like a 19800 or an 1980s 5513 would be okay as well I guess.

I just kinda prefer the 5513/16800 over the 14060/16610...

Well i would suggest a GMT, perhaps the 16700 or 16710.
if not a Sea dweller would be nice as well, 16600 or if you're lucky the last reference 16660(ended production in 1989)

As long as it has tritium...

As long as it has no service dial, it should have Tritium..production seized easily 8 years before Luminova was introduced.

I'm assuming that a 16520 is out of discussion....

Unfortunately out of budget. If someone would sell one for let's say 8k I'd still take it 馃榾

Ok so still there's the matte dial or the white gold tritium dial... Recent prices for matte dial version still is crazy!!! 馃

You might find at 10/12 a 16523 (with white dial probably my favorite Daytona zenith ) but for a 16520 20/25 now is the normal馃檨馃檨

Still I'd prefer a Matte Dial Sub, Sea Dweller or GMT... but hard times to find a good one at an accurate price...
Well, still I have 6 months till I need that birthday present for myself 馃榾

I actually don't like the explorer II (though I like the mcqueen 馃榾).
Still I wish you good luck hunting!
