Could be. It's an intriguing part of the military watch history in that it's hard to get the full story and definitive production numbers on the watches themselves; another reason why fakes are such a problem. The Speedmaster NASA history is another odd one, as for years there were several different stories on how the watch came to be selected. Now the common narrative is pretty much considered the rule, yet there are some weird anomalies in the watch's history.

There's one at the Bonham auction later this month... Nice and correct W10 ... With the usual low estimate. This one will go high, very high.... IMO near the £30k mark plus fees.
