My first Rolex! I bought it to celebrate several major events/accomplishments–I recently got engaged to a lovely woman and also crushed a national board exam taken by all M.D. candidates–and I thought this particular watch complemented the watches already in my modest collection. I own a SMPc and a Speedy Pro and thought a simple 3-hand watch like the Explorer I could fill in for more formal occasions (while still being casual enough for everyday wear of course). Incidentally, this is also the first watch I've purchased from a private seller on an online forum and am happy to say it was a fun experience–the seller and I had an entertaining conversation in which we shared our experiences as watch enthusiasts and he imparted some of the lessons he's learned while collecting Rolex watches.
