As some may recall, this watch was listed on OF and sold quite some time ago. However, the buyer somehow pulled out the crown and stem when he received the watch. I accepted the return and initially planned to service and wear the watch. Other watches and projects came up so I am selling the watch as-is. Prior to this, the watch was winding and running well. The crown and stem are intact. It has been in a box with silica packets to prevent moisture ingress. The stainless steel case is around 33.5mm. The dial and hands feature radium lume, which has aged to a nice cream color. There is minimal loss of lume to the minute hand, as you can see in the photos. Minimal scratches to the crystal, which can be polished out. Inscription on the caseback, as can be seen in the photos. The number on the lug (100) matches the caseback as it should. The watch will be sold head only and as pictured. From the Longines Archives: "The original serial number 8'165'118 identifies a wristwatch in stainless steel bearing the reference 5696. It is fitted with a Longines manually wound mechanical movement, caliber 27.M and was invoiced on 24 August 1951 to the company Terrasse, which was at that time our agent for Sweden" For this watch, I am asking $475, which will include shipping in the USA. International deals are welcome with shipping method to be discussed. Transferwise is preferred for international sales. I have lots of feedback in the Seller Profile section if you search by my username. Thanks OF for the space and platform!
Tempted as a spare parts host...mostly hands.. for mine (my grandfather's I inherited in early 70's)...but I would kind of hate to scavenge from an already-nice watch. Not sure if they would fit but mine is 33.5mm sei tacche.
Withdrawn. Thanks for the views and space OF. What was the issue here? Price too high? Too ugly? EDIT 7/22/21: SOLD Elsewhere.
Not many potential buyers, I am afraid. Price is right, watch is nice with attractive patina. Give it another try. The crown should not pose any problem.
