    Dear OF,

Up for sale is an honest Longines Ref. 5126 Tre Tacche from February 1943. The watch was serviced in March this year by @Mitka.

Since then, I have not opened the watch, so any inner caseback and movement photos are from the service. The watch will come with the brown reptile (unsure which) grain leather band, which is lightly used, as well as the remaining 8 months of Mitka's workshop warranty. Receipts of the work carried out will be provided to the buyer.

My asking price is $1050 now $900USD via PayPal. This includes tracked and signed shipping from Australia.

The stepped stainless steel case measures a touch over 31mm wide without crown. There are light swirl marks, and the the right bottom lug has a small gash on the top. The tre-tacche caseback has a couple of tool marks. On it are the order number 22140 and the case serial of 148. This matches the 148 serial number which is present on the back of the upper left lug. Crown is stainless steel and assumed to be original. The inner caseback has the words Longines and Acier Inox embossed along with the concentric circle finish. The caseback has several service inscriptions from the past. The drilled lugs allow for easy changing of 16mm bands.

The crystal was replaced during service. During my use since then, it has picked up a small mark over where the numeral 4 is. It is discernible under very bright light. In darker areas, as well as in all other regards, the crystal is clear. The dial has taken on a speckled, crater-like patina. There appears to be a small mark near the top-centre-right of the dial. The dial print remains sharp, with slight fading on the Longines brand name and minute counter at the 1 o'clock hour marker. The Longines name is in a correct font for the time period, and the dial is marked 'Suiza' at the bottom, as it was intended for the Spanish-speaking market of Argentina. There is a small amount of lume on the ends of both the hour and minute hands, which match the colour of the lume on the numeral dials. All hands are presumably original to the watch.

The 23M movement has a serial number of 6381408. During service, the mainspring, balance staff and minute tension spring screw were replaced. In addition to this, a new caseback gasket was installed, and a caseback tension ring was added to ensure the movement stays in place as the case ring holder was missing wings.

The online Longines Extract indicates that the watch was ordered on the 6th of February 1943 for the Argentinian company Perusset. This confirms the matching case and caseback serial numbers, order number, as well as the movement serial.

All sales are final and no refunds are allowed unless the watch is grossly misrepresented.
