Hi guys,

Am a newbie here and to vintage Longines in general so please be gentle!

Saw this watch, supposedly a Longines 30CH at a local shop. Apologies for the poor pic.

Could I get some advice on its condition, originality and collectibility? Also it's fair value if you don't mind. Would you get this piece?

That's a very nice looking ref. 6592 in what looks to be very good, original (dial, handset, crown) condition. Im guessing 36-37mm or so.
Very collectible.
Christies watch shop (not auction) just had one, quite reasonably priced at $2900, in far lesser condition with a less desirable dial.
How much are they asking?

very nice find. i would keep it. BUT - what is the difference between "fair price" and " all the market will bare" ?

They are asking approximately 6800 USD. Would that be fair to you?

I'm told it's 38mm. It comes with a longines museum archive paper too dating it to 1963.

This dial is not particularly rare, the case has been polished, and the price is a bit steep.

Nice watch but a pass for me.

Case has been polished but it is otherwise a nice example. This dial is not particularly rare so it is a tough call. The 30CH is a great movement that is gradually receiving the recognition it deserves...but I might hold off for one with an unpolished case or a less common dial. Price is decent though.
