I think it is plain old Sellotape to protect the watch in the space station (plenty to scratch it on I imagine). He also ranks 25th for astronauts /cosmonauts with the most EVA time - plenty of opportunity to clang a watch in the airlock I also imagine ( a lot of people worry about their watch on a domestic flight !)
Sellotape has many uses - I recall it is used as Durex in Australia :0)

·I don't have a smart-phone and anticipated the event on my desktop & laptop... FireFox browser with add-on didn't work on either machines.
The Google Chrome browser with the IG-stories for Instagram Add-In worked great and I even managed a few screenshots of Mr Protopapas talking about the 207 days 12 hours spaceflown Omega Speedmaster of Russian cosmonaut Talget Musabayev
