The first triple calendar moonphase chronograph wristwatch, it was announced at the 1944 Basel Watch Fair to commemorate the brand’s 50th anniversary. US president Harry S Truman wore a gold one at the Potsdam Conference in 1945. Versions with a white dial range from $12,000 to $20,000; with the black dial, from $60,000 to $80,000."
The article is from Australia, so I assume values are AUD, About 2/3 of US. Still 40k, and 8k to 13K us on the 12552.
No idea about the current prices, but that piece looks gorgeous with the black dial. Anyone here have one?
A Forum member owns one (and I think that's his) but I won't disclose unless he wants to. Not my place unless he wants to acknowledge.
It’s probably one of a kind in that condition. At 40k too much for me, but I’m sure someone will pay for that much for it. I’m glad it’s someone in this Forum’s watch. One of us deserve to have a watch like that.
First, are there examples in Sala's book ? Obviously the dial looks original. How many examples exist ? So the exorbitant value is mostly on the dial. I own 3 examples of UG Tri-Compax in gold. What are they worth. 5k to 10k at the most. So it's a 70k dial ? Just saying.
Well it’s only a 70k dial if someone will pay for it. In that condition, I’m sure there are only a few that exist. So it’s probably worth a lot to the right person.
