There is some really shonky logic in this thread! That is a F Birmingham hallmark which matches the 14.47m serial just fine as it represents July 1955 to June 1956. The watch was cased in Handsworth Birmingham, UK.

ps Phil is spot on above.

pps Not certain why you would bother Desmond with this, it is not a Connie.

Just realised I sold a 14.38m 13322 on here about 3 years ago. The dial was similar, I'll try to find a picture or a link.

The OP watch looks very good to me, other than being very clean there is nothing obviously suspect. Even the strap looks period and correct but it may just be a Cousins repro one.

Found it! Mine was a crosshair lume dial with a slight tint in the varnish but otherwise v similar:

I think the watch looks correct. While you might be able to do a little better for the money, the watch is fairly priced for a brick and mortar dealer. If you are planning on wearing it, you will likely be happy as it is a very handsome watch.

Thanks, all. I think I got muddled on the Dennison case article on his site where someone else was commenting on these, and forgot that wasn’t him.
Padders thanks for that post - at double the money 2.5 yrs ago this looks poor pricing but you do get a bit of a guarantee and comeback.
However I am struggling to find quality items right now - lots of trash. Most of the for sale stuff on this site is rarely relevant for me. Do you think I will be better just listing in want to buy and waiting? I just gave up on a 9ct longines 12.68Z on eBay which needed a different strap and went for £500

Agree with @padders

i,ve been doing this for 20 years and still to me Birmingham hallmarks are not That easily decipherable, even with the watch in hand

you need to look at the shape of the stamp, as well as the date letter - and of course Dennisons closed down completely in april 1967

the one that catches out most folks in 1958 - which doesnt look like a letter at all

Mine was a private sale and it went for less than I expected, I sold an earlier 13322 (yes I like them) in a previous sale for nearer £550 I think it was, I don’t think the Parkers one is too far over considering the condition which seems excellent. Dealers have to eat. A cliche but true. If you like it maybe make them a near offer.

If it is going to be watch that you will wear and enjoy I wouldn't get too wound up about the price, we aren't talking crown jewel prices here. As stated, a bricks and mortar store has to make a profit. I like that 50's period style with dauphine hands and a nice, big subdial properly placed on the dial. It's a handsome watch, you can't buy anything new in that price range.

Thanks everyone . I really like the alternate Arabic numerals And they always seem pricier but it is all taste. It will be worn.
