Lighting on a -69 speedy dial

I had some fun today experimenting lighting choice for taking pictures of a slightly brown speedy. I used a Nikon D300, a 60 macro with tripod and MLU. (it picks up every dust speck and crystal defect) I'm no pro shooter and the D300 make a better job with color processing than me, so I used the on board jpegs.

Those dials are tricky to picture properly, mostly because their color greatly depends on the light type. Case in point:

1) artificial light: nothing much to see here...

2) a ray of morning sun and boom: brown appeared.

So now every time I'm outside when it's sunny, I stare stupidly at the dial and immediately forget what time it is... 馃う

My 145.022-69 normally has a black dial, but in the sunlight it shows a little brown.
It was a sunny day today, so I enjoyed taking pictures of it as well.馃榾
