Letting a manual wound watch to stop

Do folks ever let their manual timepieces stop on purpose? Is it good for the springs to allow them to “relax”?

If you feel better doing so, then do it. Makes no difference to the watch!

I only wear my Speedmaster occasionally, so it winds down all the time. Been going strong for 6 years now. Not a problem at all.

Seems to me whether it's springs, or people, it's good to relax once in a while.

Have 20+ manual wind watches relaxing as I type this.

Also probably double the amount of automatic’s enjoying relaxation also.
