From memory, it took me about 2 years to find the best examples I could to complete the Dozen.

Here you go aga79, detailed photo of my Grana.

Yes Jim, a bit of a perfectionist and I thought from the logical side, alphabetic order was the natural way to display these beauties. cheers, Buster

    Aussie Omega WWW (1).JPG

Coming back to Omega, here is my Australian WWW. they were included in the batch of 25,000 Omega, same movement but different numbering. A number of Aussie POWs were allowed to purchase these for about 5 Pounds, to replace their watches 'liberated' by their captors.

Lemania cal 2221. Supposed to only exist with Omega branding and made for RCAF. This one was most likely not issued but I will include it anyway.

Just the stories associated with these watches is sobering. There were days before ours that meant our backs were against the wall. Salud. Bill

Just got a new strap for my 1976 Hamilton GG-W-113. 17mm strap is military from the 60s. Nothing like putting on a strap that's a decade older than the watch! These 17.4mm lugs present a problem for most NATOs I've tried to buy.

Looking back on this thread, I realized just how much my appreciation continued to develop since that post in 2014.

    Hi Guys [emoji137]

    Hey @Jwit a.k.a Jakeman & Skeletor
    Hoi @Uniqez a.k.a The Staths

Have You Guys watched Kong : Skull Island ?
Go watch the movie not only for the awesome CGI effects but for 2 reasons
    ● The setting is 1973 during the Vietnam War so expect to see lots of Vietnam military watches being showcased on the set
    ● For the 1st time ever , everything suddenly clicked @ It was a light bulb moment for me and glaringly obvious based on his charisma & energy on the silver screen in Kong , much to the relieve of the producers of the James Bond franchise , I think suave Tom Hiddleston will indeed be the next James Bond & wear an Oo-mi-ga[emoji134]

    Ok Homework Guys !
The clue is Vintage Military Vietnam watches
What are Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston charactors wearing on their wrists ? 2017-03-15%2017.40.22.png 2017-03-15%2017.37.49.png brielarson.jpg 2017-03-15%2017.40.59.png 2017-03-15%2017.39.36.png 2017-03-15%2017.38.55.png

Or possibly Capt Willards' 6105-811X? Unfortunately I don't have one of these.

It's for sale in the local Malaysian ebay market but too bad it isnt the 0ne Charlie's dad was wearing in Apocalypse Now. The watch shown in the photo would have fetched a price tag of USD 4/5 grand tops !
