I'm sure most of us here have a good few of these. Whether it's a watches that's shot up in value, hard to find in as good a condition as one you've let go, or worst still irreplaceable.

Rather than sharing a list, let's see just one of you "wish I'd never sold that" watches.

Here is my main one, not irreplaceable but they sell for far higher than I sold mine and I couldn't bring myself to pay so much more for one now(neither can I afford to). I was stupid to sell it as I absolutely loved the thing, probably my favourite watch at the time I sold it but had just ordered the freshly announced Omega ST1 and wanted to get off to a fast start raising the funds so cleared pretty much the entire collection including this one.

The ST has since been sold(the money was needed elsewhere and anyway in truth I never did bond with it as much as my trusty CWC) and now I'm left with neither.

Will I ever own one again? who knows but for now I'm always missing this thing. For me pretty much the perfect modern chrono for small wrists(beautiful to wind, far nicer than a Speedy. 39mm, tritium in a modern watch, hugely satisfying snap to the pushers, lovely acrylic and perfect clarity).

I picked up a bombe lugged Rolex (6090) around 7 years ago for pretty much scrap value. At the time I didn’t appreciate gold watches in the slightest and I just saw the dollar signs and moved it on. It was the watch the sowed the seeds of my collecting habit, and I wish I had it now.

My biggest regret in that last 12 months was not buying a BLNR that was in the case at my local AD. It was right there. I even tried it on and then I walked out of the store. What was I thinking?

So maybe this is my biggest no buy regret.

My first omega, sold to get some funds at the start of my new business. Should have kept it, it was pristine !

Now when I come across something nice, I keep it for some time to be really sure.

Only one. I have asked twice to buy it back. He added a bracelet, so I'm not sure I'm going to bother asking again.

I sold this about 30 minutes after I got it:

While it was a bit of a regret afterwards, it gave me the opportunity to explore a couple of other brands and models...still hunting for one occasionally.

For years now I’ve regretted not only selling my seamaster 300 165.024 but selling it for way too little on eBay and shorting myself probably $1000.

It was because we were having a daughter and I really wanted something special I could give her someday that I had bought when she was born.

Well I found a speedy 145.012 and it was my first fancy vintage watch. It arrived from mexico and not only was the chrono not working but then thedial, to my surprise as a movie, did not have white creamy lume but rather the tritium was all gone

Here’s the one photo I have of that bummer first purchase for a premoon Speedy:

I was lucky and $100 shipping back to mexico later the eBay dealer did me a solid.

Unfortunately then I was without a speedy and without a seamaster.

I lucked out in 6 weeks and found my dream watch from a collector who gave me a fair price and the watch now sits still with me 2 years later.

Hopefully soon I’ll be sharing the Seamaster that I’ll be replacing my sold one with. This time it’ll be for commemorating another baby girl.

    To be continued!

Silver Snoopy. Not only I regret selling, I sold for far less than what it was worth. I bought 3 Omegas (Globemaster, ck2998LE, and Snoopy) within 6 months and felt guilty spending so much so quick with a Rolex on its way in a few months.
Guilt made me part with one. I made a wrong call.

I have never regretted selling a watch but conversely the last watch I would sell is a Smiths W10.
