It was really a nice set the owner was finishing the second siege thingy when I stopped by. I think he was asking 245 obo I have no clue if that was a fair price but it was very interesting to look at. No watches or pics I had left my phone in the car.

·Took some time off from this, got Covid, and just finished the mid section. Not much different so no need for detail shots. The stern will be fun. Working engines and propellers.

·Did Lego recreate the reciprocating engines? I think that turbine is actually the final stage propulsion turbine for the center shaft judging by what I think are the outboard shafts on either side in the later stage of the build. Incredible model. I had no idea of the size.

Very true. Screw technology for US subs anyway is very exciting and dynamic. Security regarding the newer classes' propulsor or pump-jet is even higher since it includes many more components and materials and not only design.

I think the other side can also model sound signatures to improve listening / tracking stations once they know the design and screw shape (when it has a screw). I imagine newer systems are even more the ‘silent service’
