Lemonia Stopwatch

Hi
On clearing out my mums house, I have found the attached Lemonia Stopwatch.

On the back is engraved
VAC
RES
1606

I believe VAC is "Vickers Arnament Company", where both my grandad and dad worked.

Could somebody please tell me the model type?
I have looked at the identification chart, but only see one marked Omega. Is that the same? It also only had 2 buttons at the top and not 3.

What would it have been used for within a factory setting?

Also, how do I get the back open? It's hinged at the bottom, but I can seem to get it open. Is there a knack?

Many thanks

You should see a "lip" to slide a sharp blade and with a gentle twist, the back should pop open, and hinge back so you see the movement.

This "lip" should have scratch marks from others opening the back.....
