Hi OF!

Not sure if this is the right place to post - please let me know if it is not.

A SpeedMaster Professional came up for sale for a good price locally. This would be my first big watch purchase and because of that, I would like everyone's opinion on if there are any red flags or if I am good to go.

Also, if there are any other questions I should be asking the seller, please let me know.

The sale post -

"Up for sale is my lovely Omega Speedmaster.
- 42mm case size
- Omega Calibre 1861
- Hesalite Crystal
- 48 Hour Power Reserve
- Reference 311.30.42.30.01.005
Very light scratches on the clasp but clean everywhere else
- Purchased from Watchshopping.com last year
- Box and papers
-Purchased 2019"

Looks good to me. It's just missing the astronaut strap. Check to see if the hesalite has the Ω logo in the middle. Dont forget matching serial numbers.

Thanks for the tips - where would the omega logo be on the hesalite? I don't know if I have ever heard of this before...

Also, where should I be checking for matching serial numbers? The lugs and where else?

No issues. Logo is in center of crystal. As long as warranty card SN matches lug SN you'll be ok. This is essentially an almost new watch, not likely to have any funny provenance or issues.

You can see the Omegs logo on the 8th pic if you zoom in.

Looks good to my untrained eye.

Thank you everyone...

The dealer on the card is Cormery Pilar. After some googling, it looks like it is in Argentina but it is not listed as an AD on Omega. Assuming it would not be a legit warranty if that were the case?

Has anyone ever heard of this store?

Perhaps the store gave up the Omega franchise, wouldn't affect the validity of the warranty.

Looks fine to me. Has the newer caseback as expected. Might want to make sure it’s a full kit as noted it looks to be missing on piece.

Does the serial on the lug match the card?

The seller claims it does and is happy to meet up - said he can't really get a picture of the serial number with his phone which is a tad bit concerning. I could totally be over reacting based on me wanting everything to be perfect for this purchase.

If it's a local sale just meet up and check the SN and verify function and appearance of watch. Check the bracelet length, looks pretty small in pics although there appears to be extra links included.

When you meet up, take the loop the set comes with and verify the serial number on the lug.
You can also verify the logo in the center. As mentioned, verify all functions work as they should. Wind it, use the chronograph and see of it resets properly.

Also just realized there is no red dot visible...will that impact the warranty?

they stopped using red dots a LONGGGGGGG time ago, and was never used on the big box version of the Speedmaster

Surprised no one has inquired to the price. It’s clearly an authentic watch, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t being taken to the cleaners 🤔

The first thing I’d ask the seller is what’s the price 😝 that’s going to have a far greater impact than the minimal scratches on the clasp

^ Good point - Watchshopping is a newer grey market dealer in NorCal that sells at 20-25% below MSRP soI’m sure the OP is aware that he should pay below 4K easily especially since he/she seems to be doing his homework

So does it mean 33400 is the country code for Argentina?
