Hoping someone can help me - I’ve just impulse purchase a vintage De Ville for a steal if it’s real. I’m aware that it’s a replacement strap at least. Thanks in advance for any info!

What amount was the steal? Hint: not a very popular reference.. Did you do any research before your purchase?

It’s genuine but not a desirable model. Should be cheap (c.£250 or ideally less) really.

You’re being too generous.

And the main reason it should be cheap, is that 1/ the 1970s style of the watch is out of fashion, 2/ gold plate is a fragile material which wears off over time and can even peel off. In short, it’s a cheap material unless it’s very thick eg 80 microns, which this isn’t.

The 70`s will be back in fashion some day, nice watch.
