Hi Guys,

looking at possibly adding this gold capped 167.005 to my collection. May I quickly check if the dial is original and not redialed?

Thanks in advance!

the movt shot is for an earlier, date, gold dogleg - probably a 14902 if the movt actually belongs to a dogleg

the dial image is too pixilated to be certain as it makes the 'Constellation' look a bit funky

What @Peemacgee said for the most part.

Something about the “ns” in Constellation doesn’t sit right with me. Compare with this one.

OP’s example.

It’s close, but I don’t know. I would say the only way to tell for sure is an up close inspection.

Are those hallmarks in the legs (top right/bottom leg in the movement photo)? I thought only solid gold cases carried those?

They are - but as I mention above, it is most likely that it is the incorrect movt shot as it is for a watch with a date and too early for a 167.005.

Two points, IMO
the crosshair is too thick
I don't see any signs of sunburst

Serifs missing and minute track too far from pie pan transition line.

To me the dial finishing looks off. Too flat. Minute markers look too far from the pie-pan lines. Regarding text and crosshair I find it hard to say due to the photo quality. They seem too bold.

I personally believe it's a high quality redial, which seems to be becoming increasingly common these days due to the increased hype in pie-pans.

I'd love to have that case though.
