Need the reference number to answer if the bezel is correct. To,me, the OP bezel does appear to be a “B” shown below.

Text on B is a lot thinner right? Or is it my imagination?

Maybe there was no consistency in thickness of the font/numbers... hmmm.

IMHO, 165.024-64 is consistent with this bezel type and movement number range.

Alrighty! Thnx! Maybe I'll give it a go. Not sure yet. But I've got my budget for a 300 together so the hunt begins...

Glad you finally made it through the minefield of distractions. Excited to see what you come up with.

Am I confused or isn't OP bezel a type A? which should have -63HF caseback, serial 20,xxxx.

Sorry, depends whose chart you refer to..

According to these charts you are correct. Here it’s labeled a type A but I have seen this “type” on both 63 and 64 references., one of each shown above. Perhaps when @Dash1 and @kox finish their upcoming book, we will have all the answers😀. They can also have the honor of assigning THE letters to the various TYPES

Looks to me a legit Type A bezel seen mostly on 165.024-63 HF. I have observed two serial range on the -63 being 20,3xx, 20,6xx and 22,49x. The 22,49x I have seen the dial with the asymmetry "T" added.

It is true that the "20" on the OP's looks just a tad thicker although I never heard of a repo type A.

Compare the 3s. It does appear to be a B. Left is the OP, right is the A with a flat top 3

I am using the chart @gemini4 just posted. Didn't know about another chart 😀. But A or B we are all saying the same thing.

And when I look at these charts, I agree it appears to be an A! 😕

Wait! Isn’t someone on this forum creating an ultimate guide to vintage SM300’s? Might come in handy and I’d love one myself! 😗
