So I’ve been looking for a SM 300 166.024 and have noticed a few come up where the lume on the hands is different from the lume on the dial. Is this a manufacturing issue, an aging issue or just replacement hands that don’t match?

There is one up on a site for $45k like this…certainly not in my budget but wondering what I all think of this???

From what I understand, different companies produced the dials and hands. Because of this, the different lume used ages differently. Finding hands that are darker than dials is pretty common.

All the reasons why aren't inoccent, too. Gotta be careful when looking at these.

I`d say the dial and hands are relumed, when looking how the indices are being made... An I`d say the color tone difference is also made by purpose, to stress out the vintage look... just my 2 cents... UV light test would say more..
