For sale is my LeCoultre Quartermaster from the 1950’s. This is a very uncommon and rare watch, displaying 24 hours for those in the military and made in very limited numbers, with more than half of them made with white dial. It is the only watch ever made by Jaeger-LeCoultre that has time only and 24 hours configuration.

Dial: 100% original black gilt glossy dial, all original hands, original radium on both dial and hands.
Case: Stainless steel, case is unpolished..
Movement: Cal K831.

The watch measures 34mm excluding crown, 18mm lugs width. No service history, watch runs and keeping good time.

I'm sure most of you already aware of the Quartermaster, but this model gained a lot more popularity recently because of Hodinkee article by Jeff Stein on John Glenn's watches below,

John Glenn's watch was a modified version of the "Quartermaster" and now we call them the "Mercury 7". The moniker came from the Mercury 7 astronauts because they were issued the LeCoultre by NASA. The astronauts orbited Earth every 90 minutes and needed a watch with 24-hour indication. There's also a special version of this watch called the "Lucky 13" that was also owned by John Glenn.

Finding one of these watches in black dial is already hard enough, and for people that have been looking, I'm sure you know how hard it is to find one that still has glossy dial and original, most of them are matte or refinished. The dial on this watch is in excellent condition, with original radium that have aged beautifully on the dial and hands. The last 2 photos attached shows the dial without the plexi glass on.

The watch is sold as is head only, no box or papers. Priced at USD5,000 + shipping. Paypal or bank wire only.

Thanks heaps
