LE Number: is “61” significant to Omega?

So my Aqua Terra is part of a limited edition of 61 pieces. I couldn’t find any explanation of that number in its paperwork or on Omega’s site, so I emailed an inquiry to Omega. The respondent (a SWATCH rep) said it was just a random choice.

I guess I need to accept that. And there’s a similar version (on a strap, not a bracelet) that’s 161 pieces. I guess they’re both just random numbers.

But 61… 161… it just feels, like, too random. I know there are Omega chrono movements that end in 61. But this is a Seamaster-line watch.

And other Omega LEs do have significant numbers: 1948 comes to mind.

Anyone have any insights here?

You mad genius, you. 😀

BUT: how does this explain 161? …I suppose there is only ONE 007.

Look at all of us. It’s like National Treasure or the Da Vinci code or something. Starting to think that once we get to the bottom of this LE numbering thing, we’ll find the clue that leads to the Loch Ness monster or Atlantis.

Got nothing on the 61.

BUT, in a different random occurrence, Omega uses my birthday to advertise their watches.
