Greetings again. This is Vivian and I am new... this is my 2nd post. Here is a sweet Omega Ladies watch that is running. I can't take the metal protective back off because it requires crown removal. I will have my watchmaker take it off. BUT I wanted to know if anyone knows the era and a ballpark evaluation. If there is anything unique about this let me know. I appreciate the help.

Thanks

Vivian Anton

Evaluating anything takes into account demand in the marketplace. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of demand in the market for ladie’s watches. The more demand means usually higher prices. Little or no demand, well, you can imagine. Look at it this way. The watch is worth at the least what a scrap gold buyer would pay you for the case without the mechanism, being that it is 14-karat gold. The case by itself might weigh 5 or 6 grams. A 14-karat case is only 58% gold. Gold currently is a bit over $3,000.00 U S for a Troy ounce of 31.1 grams. Not knowing the weight of the case, I would guess about 5 grams. There might be about $200.00 (U S) for scrap. You might deem it to be of more value than that, but that is about the value the market would ascribe to it. If it runs, if you like it, if you would enjoy using it, then it might be of more value to you. Only you could put a value on it.
