Hi. I saw this vintage Seamaster box that at first was an auction only. I dont know anything about vintage omega boxes, but this one seems to be for a 50's seamaster chronometer... exactly like the one I have 馃榾. I emailed the seller and asked about a buy it now price and she said she had already changed it to a buy it now ad because somebody already inquired about buying it at buy it now price. I had to act fast to make sure I got it so I didnt have time to ask here first so what d you think, did I do good?

Not a bargain, but about what they often go for. With vintage pieces unless you see a boxed set with papers for sale, it is difficult to ascertain which box goes with your particular watch.

Thanks! The reason I liked this one was because it specifically says chronometer which makes it a little more specific to my watch 馃榾

Vintage boxes can be an added enjoyment to the watches, as long as you don't get carried away with the concept. Remember, the prize is on the inside. 馃槈

FYI - There originally would have been a tray insert like this as well.

Unfortunately these are often missing since these boxes were often used for cufflinks, tie tacks, etc.

Yes even in more modern cases the pillows are often missing.

The insert doubles the value of the box IMO

Well your going to have to wait quite a while 馃檨 I sent it off for an overhaul with Steve (N2FHL) since it was running very fast. But I suspect you can get those pics in 4-6 weeks 馃槈

You did well on the price in that condition. Like the watches, these green Seamaster boxes are far rarer the the red ones meant for Constellations. XJR is correct about the insert, these are very hard to come by, but you do have the leather pad.

Nice pick up!
