    found this on ebay...

looks like a speedmaster 2998-61in fairly good condition. i emailed the seller for more hi-res pics and pics of the movement and caseback if possible but he said he won't be able to supply them. very tempting but too risky. good luck if anyones decides to take a gamble...

There is a 14 day money back return, but the seller is not making any originality claims apart from the band (which ain't original). Might be iffy getting them to accept a return?

If they have the 14 day return I would be ok with it myself. Seller has a good rating and I would just let them know before bidding just in case. Might be worth the gamble.

The good old no shipping outside the US seller. Boy do I hate them.

Guys, I have made the offer before and will again. I am a former Postal employee and if you need anything sent to you overseas, I am at your disposal. I know how to get around most countries fees so you don't have that worry. A thought...

And as simply as that (well the appearance of this thread really) the one little glimmer of hope that was keeping me going this week is gone.

    :(

    Good luck Champ.

Saw it within an hour of listing, had a quick 'sighting' bid to keep it honest and then set up an ever hopeful, but less than nuclear snipe.
Been checking here to see how long it would take to appear ;)
I suppose it provided some free entertainment for a while.

I have a sick feeling this is one of my jokes only I think is funny.
I'm not bidding. I'm not even watching. Just wanted to stir the pot a little. :(
Besides, I'm not one to show the cards before the bets are made...
There are few secrets any more to be uncovered on eBay. With or without my participation, this Speedy will not be cheap.
If I rubbed anyone the wrong way, I apologize. It wasn't my intent.
Hope to see the Speedy here with a family member soon! Good luck to anyone in the game.

it is always interesting to see the power of good watchfora. the serious bidding started after this thread here was published.....it is still a mayor risk. with the wrong movement number the value drops a lot..... kind regards. achim

That only happens when very selective models go on parade here and the "burying" act happens almost instantly… :whistling:

I still don't understand why anyone would bid until the last minute/seconds of the auction.

Many have others to do the last-minute work for them.
