They seem to be reserving the full lume for the aluminium bezel these days.

I wonder if its because it makes the bezel stronger being all ceramic, I remember especially in the early days of ceramic bezels across different brands, a lot of the cracks would start and end with one of the corners on the indices, especially on the designs with recessed indices

Congratulations 🎉 👏 I tried it today. Black and blue. It's a great watch and in my opinion a great new PO.

Best Alex

Here are some quick lume shots
New Planet Ocean

Left to right, Ultra Deep Summer Blue, Planet Ocean 43.5 white dial orange bezel, new Planet Ocean

Seamaster 300m Summer Blue, Planet Ocean

And a couple of pics regarding the watch being too blingy. Yes, there is some polishing on the case. And the bracelet has PCL's, which are very reflective. However, the dial is matte black, which, at least in my opinion, tones it down quite a bit. Here it is next to a Rolex Submariner. Granted its the sub with the green bezel, so that might add a bit of pop. However, someone posted a pic of it next to a sub with a black bezel. I find the Rolex, at least in the area of the dial, which is glossy, almost as blingy.

You can really see how reflective the Rolex dial is in a lume shot. Now perhaps had the put a glossy dial on the Planet Ocean, maybe that would have sent it over the top. As it stands I think they did an amazing job with the watch.
Can you share how you charged the lume like this? Very impressive shot!

My guess would be a standard UV torch. I have this one.

Thank you, and the previous comment from zinterz was correct. I picked up an inexpensive UV light from Amazon, mostly so I could see the invisible writing on my Ultra Deep

JUST got to see these at the OB today! I like the bracelet and the case, and the bezel is fantastic! Case is a little angular, but I'm a fan of it. I actually liked the orange better than I thought I would (its actually really quite nice!) but the blue still looks best to me.

Not going to end up with one anytime soon, but I love the form factor, and it seemed really comfy.

Really though?
Honestly, yes. I really liked it, it has a nice texture and print, and fits with the watch really well. Dial was 'fine' to me, but the bezel was way better than I expected. Other than the 30 minute marker being misaligned of course.

I really like that orange a lot as well! It really is a great color

Enjoy

Side by side with the older PO the new looks more like the 39.5mm older PO...

I have the orange new one, and also the 39.5mm version in blue. They shouldn’t wear and look so similar in size but I agree with you, they do. I think it’s because the bezel on the 42mm new one is a lot bigger relative to the dial size than the 39.5, which tends to make a watch look smaller. The thickness is almost identical according to the specs.

Just tried two on in the airport OB. Bezel action seemed strangely ratchety and loose on both of them. Is this common? It was pretty noticeable. Like worse than my Seiko turtle noticeable.

I finally saw these in person. Didn't even ask to take them out of the case. I can't get over how the end links match up with the case.

I love that on the Ultra Deep. It seems to me that Omega had allot of fun with their Seamaster 75th Aniversary Edition (aka Summer Blue) designs. As they seem more light hearted and fun to wear than the regular Seamaster designs of the same era.

Stopped by the OB to check out the new Constellations on. While I was there, tried this one on bracelet and on strap. Loved the Orange color and dial combo. Bracelet is real blingy (fingerprint and scratch magnet) but like the throwback look. Think it would be better brushed to tone it down. And really like it on the orange rubber more I wore it.

Now the one noticeable issue I found was with the bezel. Alignment was fine, but it turned extremely easy with a noticeable play back and forth. Not sure if Omega went with a thin, cheap spring for it, or if it was the display model, but that's something which would need to be addressed.
