·Newcastle is pretty much equidistant from the southernmost point and northernmost point in terms of latitude, so you’d say that’s in the middle ? And as around 85% of the population of the UK live in North Yorkshire or further south, I think it’s pretty fair to describe it as being in the North. I think anyone who argues otherwise has a chip (or perhaps deep fried mars bar) on their shoulder 😁
